Towel Day is already a hot topic across the internet as we approach Towel Day 2013.  It would be nearly impossible (perhaps only improbable) to keep up with all related postings.  I will only post a few of the more interesting ones as I come across them:

Towel Day has been noticed by the Oxford Dictionary, at least in its relation to geeks.  (Even though being a geek has been fashionable for some time now, I'm still not sure if I should be offended by being called a geek - It was a less than endearing term when I was growing up):

Less than 33 hours until Towel Day breaks across the International Date Line and spills out across the pacific.  Environmental experts warn that the cleanup could be very costly.  Others are concerned about the long term psychological effects on wildlife.



It took marine psychologists 42 days to convince this guy to let go of his towel after Towel Day 2011.
