It's All Souls Day everybody!  Today we remember all the souls that have passed away and we hope that they are in Heaven. :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Yeah, it's an American thing and Douglas Adams wasn't American. But happy Thanksgiving anyway.  :D

Yes, Happy Thanksgiving (still got a couple minutes left in my time zone).  As is becoming a holiday tradition, something broke.  Last Christmas it was sewer backup.  One year the fence blew down.  One time on a Thanksgiving trip we got stranded in a snowstorm in the middle of nowhere Kansas...  Today the refrigerator stopped working.  Oh well, still plenty to be thankful for.

Better late than never.  :D

No fridge? Quick, eat the leftovers!

Well, it's Black Friday but I'm not going out in that mess. Online shopping! Yay!

Merry Christmas!  Well, I'm a day late.   ;D  But Merry Christmas anyway because it really lasts until Epiphany, right?

Actually, I'd guess that a year passing in one way or another would probably be the most recognizable holiday around the world. People may disagree on when the number rolls over and whether or not you should get time off of work, but I think everybody recognizes the general idea.

Anyway, 2012 is here. I guess we'd better brush up on our hitchhiking techniques before that apocalypse hits. Anybody want to bet the Mayans were talking about a scheduled Vogon appointment? I'd be willing to believe it would take that many years for them to get through the paperwork.
". . . We realised we had been myopically shortsighted to think this thing was just an adding machine. . . . So we began to develop it as a super typewriter. With a long and increasingly incomprehensible feature list. Users of Microsoft Word will know what I'm talking about."

Happy New Year!

Hmm, the Mayans knew about the Vogons. You may be onto something there, Lewot.  :D

And yes, I think New Year's Eve is a holiday. At least, it always feels like one.  ;D

... The closest thing to a holiday for Vogon poetry.
